He was predeceased by: his parent Harry Katerman; and his sister Betty Algatt. He is survived by: his parent Elsie Katerman (Barger); his wife Joanne H. Magee; and his children, Christine Wheadon of Danville, Barbara J. (William Paule) of Dauphin, PA and Harry "Mike" M. Katerman of Hilton Head, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
