He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph, Sr. Weiss and Lena Madge Weiss (Robbins); his son Joseph; and his siblings, Arlene Mourey, Richard H. Weiss and Robert E. Weiss.

He is survived by: his children, Lore Nuss of Bloomsburg and Carl Weiss of Montandon; his grandchildren, Nicole R. Nuss of Berkeley, CA, Kimberly Weiss and Jeffrey Weiss; his siblings, John N. Weiss of Bloomsburg and Sandy L. (Thomas Brobst) of Bloomsburg; and his significant other Joyce McBride of Bloomsburg.
