He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harris Appelman Sr. and Jean Terwilliger Appelman; and his sisters, Phyllis Rhodomoyer and Beverly Appelman. He is survived by: his children, Sara Kay (Pastor Craig Laidacker), James Harris Appelman III (Rose) and Lynn Appelman (Sally); and his grandchildren, Daniel Laidacker, Paul Laidacker (Kacie), Joshua Laidacker, Nathan Laidacker (Daphne), Amanda Appelman and Alissa Appelman Conklin (Brad).
