It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irmgard K. Devlin of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 4, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johann Kleemann and Elizabeth Kleemann (Holzer); and her husband John S. Devlin, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, John S. Devlin, Jr. (Laura), Wash, Elisabeth Devlin-Zeigler, William H. Devlin and Michael R. Devlin (Julie); her great grandchild Isla Kate; and her siblings, Katharina McArthur, Helmut Kleemann (Isolde) of Regensberg, Hans Kleemann (Erna) of Regensberg, Heinerich Kleemann (Tanya) of Regensberg and Germany. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“I've known Irma since I was four or five years old, she and my mother were dear friends and I remember her children from Tallahassee and Blacksburg when we were in elementary school. Over the years there were times when she was like an aunt to me, and she was such a fiercely loving, kind, and wise friend. My grown daughter still wears and loves a pair of hand-knitted socks Irma made for her. She was an ear for me, always lovingly candid with her advice, and I'll never forget her. Rest in beauty.”

“Irma so graciously shared her home with me for 4 months in 2004-5. We became close friends and I learned so much including how to knit. We laughed and cried together as we shared our life stories. We continued to stay in contact for years but sadly life got in the way and we both lost contact. Wednesday as I was walking the beach I told myself to call her when I got home as she was so vividly on my mind. Jim told me of Irma’s passing when I got home. Our connection was made! RIP Special Angel!”
