He was predeceased by: his parents, Wellington George, Sr. and Clara L. Whitfield (Dent); his wife Ruth Lynch (Stiner); his stepdaughter Deborah Young (Lynch); and his stepgrandson David Lynch.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Litterer (John) of Bloomsburg, Wade Whitfield (Denise) of Bloomsburg and Cathy Dressel (Jeffrey) of Mifflinville; his stepsons, Richard Lynch (Karen) of Scranton and Randy Lynch of Bloomsburg; his stepson-in-law Daniel Young of Bloomsburg; his grandchildren, Stephanie O'Brien of Bloomsburg, Marybeth Martinson of Radford, VA, Amy Whitfield of Orangeville, Rebecca Connor of Nescopeck and Kellee Capozzelli of Mifflinville; his stepgrandchildren, Melinda Rhoads of Bloomsburg, Eric Lynch of Douglasville, PA, Mitchell Young of Leesburg, VA and Dr. Christopher Young of Rockford, IL; and his brother Dan Whitfield (Yvonne) of Carbondale, IL. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren.
