He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Thomas; his parents, Julius Wingate and Mattie Wingate (Nichols); and his siblings, Johnnie Mack Wingate and Loretta Joyce Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Michael L. Wingate of Bloomsburg and Lisa L. Rixey of Windham, Conn.; his grandchildren, Tishena Sheatler, Jeffrey Walter, Samuel Rixey Rachael Vorman and Zachary Vorman; and his great grandchildren, Areana, Damian, Ryder, Regan, Brooklyn, Owen, Declan and Findley.
