He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis H. Herring (Hubbard); his parents, John Herring and Anna Herring (Poyer); and his brothers, Robert and John Herring.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lynn Bartsch (Jacob) of Coaldale, Alberta and Melanie Drake (Jeffrey) of Blooming Glen, PA; and his grandchildren, Nathaniel Stapleton (Adrielle), Katie Martens (Steven), Christopher Stapleton (Ashley), Stephanie Hurlock (Robert), Benjamin Drake (Corinne), Timothy Drake and Max Drake (Paige). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
