It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward K. Franke of Blandon, Pennsylvania, born in Reading, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 26, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward A. Franke and Dorothy (Squibb); his wife Mary Anne (Grealy); and his sisters, Jeanne R. Franke and Grace Franke.

He is survived by : his children, Susan M. Standhardt (Allen) of Oley, Donna L. Franke of Blandon and David K. Franke (Teresa) of Blandon; his grandchildren, Kristen A. Erb (Evan) of Manheim, Edward W. Standhardt and Robbie Lynn Franke; his great grandchildren, Keelie, Trey and Sofia; and his sister Marion Engelhart (Calvin) of Reading.

Viewing was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM at the Bean Funeral Homes- Hampden Heights (1605 Rockland St, Reading, PA 19604). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Gethsemane Cemetery (3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605). A burial was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Edward's honor to The American Cancer Society.
