She was predeceased by: her parents, Rosario Cardenas and Pepe B. Avila; and her sister Raquel Siguenza. She is survived by: her husband Miguel E. Baez; her children, Miguel A. Baez (Zoraida), Gonzo G. Baez, Jenny R. Baez (John) and Alexandra Baez-Thomson (Ray); her siblings, Vicente Avila (Nanda), Teresa of Pacheco and Elvira Cando (Angel); and her grandchildren, Marco Jaimes, Jeffrey Baez, Joanna Johnson (Keith), Michael Baez, Brandon Thomson and Jonathan Alvia.
