He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mudge, Sr. and Alice Mudge (Waldschmidt); and his brother William Mudge, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Patti Mudge (McInchok) of Blairsville, PA; his children, Kim Ferguson (Sam) of Blairsville, PA and Robert G. Mudge, Jr. (Reneah) of Blairsville, PA; his grandchildren, Emily, Madison, Alexis, Samantha and Riley; his siblings, Alice Mudge (Glynnis) of Emmaus, PA, Barbara Lineman of Gibsonia, PA, Ronald Mudge (Donna) of South Carolina and Debbie Mudge of Pittsburgh, PA; his brother-in-law Skip McInchok (Kay) of South Carolina; his aunts, Joan Waldschmidt and Betty "Toots" Mulheren; and his close friend Josh Ammon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
