He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Hales, Sr. and Avril Hales (Robertson); and his grandson Evan McCullock. He is survived by: his wife Esther Hales (Huey) of Blairsville, PA; his children, Derek Hales (Shannon) and Brandee Chandler (Robert); his stepsons, Brooke McDonough of Export, PA and Joseph Frankenberry of Roanoke, VA; and his brother Barry Hales (Cathy) of Reedsville, NC.. He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren.
