He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonathan G. Bortz and Verna R. Bortz (Benfield); and his siblings, Russell, Floyd Bortz and Dorothy Eidle.
He is survived by: his children, Chester A. Bortz (Debbie) of Caernarvon Twp, Carol A. Clelland (Bruce) of Muhlenberg Twp and Jo K. Gassert (Dennis) of Grill, PA; and his siblings, Willard Bortz of Boyertown, PA, David Bortz of Oley, PA, Mae Bortz of Blandon, PA, Virginia Kuser of Bern Twp, Anna Conrad of Oley, PA and Linda Kolb of Jeromeville, OH. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory (144 N Spruce St, Birdsboro, PA 19508). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Mt Carmel Cemetery (2203 Harmonyville Rd, Elverson, PA 19520).
