He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph E. Rice and Margaret A. Rice (Cluck); and his siblings, Kathryn Pitzer, Mary Carey, Evelyn Orner, Mildred Taylor, Ruth Starner, Harold, Wallace, Donald, Ralph Rice, Jr., Robert and Clifford Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Joan L. Rice (Hartman); his children, Brenda L. (David McCleaf) of York Springs, Tonya G. (Michael Griest) of Biglerville, Barry B. (Michele Rice) of Biglerville and Tony C. (Theresa Rice) of Biglerville; and his sisters, Barb May of Gettysburg, Joyce Wertz of Biglerville and Betty Culp of Gardners. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
