With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John W. Downey of Biglerville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 10, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Rita V. Downey; his parents, Leo T. and Theresa W. Downey, Sr.; and his spouses, Jule Slagle (Martin), Leo Downey, Jr. (Jeanne) and Sheila Melzac (Vincent).
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Szawlosky (Todd) of Cumberland, MD, Siobhan Kosko (Chris) of Westminster, MD, Sinead Downey of Biglerville, PA, Maria and Mairead Wilt (Jeff) of Gettysburg, PA; his friends, Lisa, Mary and Dave; and also Linda Corbin of Falling Waters, WV. He is also survived by five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his nephew.
