Joan Schmetzer Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Schmetzer of Biglerville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 24, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Frederick H. Schmetzer; and her sons, Frederick R. Schmetzer, Robert Schmetzer, Donald Hance and Richard Hance.
She is survived by: her daughters, MaryEllen "Susie" Dickinson of Gardners and Kathleen "Kathy" P. Rudisill (William) of York Springs; her daughter-in-law Sara Barrera of Biglerville; her son Thomas M. Hance (Roseann) of New York; and her siblings, Jean McEachin and Tom Sonnenberg. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. (111 S Main St, Biglerville, PA 17306). A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
