He was predeceased by: his wife Arlene; his parents, Wilbur Edward and Madeline Marie Mays (Staub); his brother Bob; his sister-in-law Gail; and his nephew Donnie Mays.
He is survived by: his daughter Pamela Shaffer (Rick Rex) of Biglerville; his grandchildren, Megan Shaffer of York Springs and Jaydon Shaffer of Biglerville; and his siblings, Susan (Stanley Starry) of York Springs, Linda (Keith Biesecker) of Orrtanna, Sharon (Ed Riley) of Orrtanna and Mike (Elaine Mays) of York Springs.
