He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Chew (Kassab); his parents, William Chew and Helen Chew (Galey); and his sister Helen Buckman (Irvin). He is survived by: his children, William J. Chew (Sara), David J. Chew (Patricia), Richard J. Chew (Theresa), Julie A. Shaw and Beth A. Kirkpatrick (Kyle); his grandson Aaron (Breanna); his great grandchildren, Leyton, Sadie, Danielle (Philip), Peter and Amy (Peter); and also, Danette Holzer, Miles, Leo, Kelly (Christopher), Jackson, William, Michael, Daniel, James (Laura), Tyler, Jacob, Haley and Laura. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
