He was predeceased by: his parents, Alberta Burgos and Pedro Zayas; and his wife Mercedes M. Zayas. He is survived by: his godsons, David Barbosa Jr (Carmen) and David Pabon; and his daughters, Angela Hassey, Judy Barreto-Matos and Belinda Estremera.
