He was predeceased by: his spouse Margaret A. "Peggy" Sharkey (Nelson); and his brother Emmett Joseph Jr.. He is survived by: his children, John F. Jr. Sharkey (Jill) of Center Valley, Catherine M. Warfield of Easton, Mary C. Hurtt of Easton and Patricia A. Cope (Kevin) of Bethlehem; his grandchildren, Frank McGimpsey, Michael Warfield, Lisa Anderson, Daniel Cope, Megan Hubbuch, Kate Yurasits and Courtney Franchio; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lucas, Jack, Elsie, Henry, Julian, Grayce, Harper, Jenson, Sydney and Chloe.
