He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Townsend and Irma Townsend (Kichline); and his siblings, Dorothea and Leroy. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" S. Townsend (Brown); his sons, Edwards S. Townsend, Jr. (Gail Mrowinski) and Craig Townsend (Julia); his grandchildren, Aaron, Joe and Samantha; and his stepgranddaughter Jacqueline.
