He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Matthews and Marie Matthews. He is survived by: his daughter Kate Matthews (Jon Tai); his wife Virginia Matthews; and his siblings, Dick Matthews (Virginia), Bill Matthews (Sue), Jim Matthews (Cindy) and Jan Matthews. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
