With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Matera of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 24, 2024 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Janet departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Janet may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Janet leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her sister Margaret Morgan. She is survived by: her husband James Matera (Jim); her children, Maria and Justin Matera; her sister Jean Hughey; and her nephews, David Hughey and Donnie Morgan.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Inc. (5570 Library Rd, Bethel Park, PA 15102). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
