He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Pasternak and Genevieve Pasternak (Zebrowski); and his sister Diane Regina. He is survived by: his wife Fran Pasternak; his daughters, Angie Burns (Bill), Jen Dickinson (Pete) and Natalie James (Brad); his grandchildren, Sydney, Sean, Ryan Burns, Benjamin Dickinson, Brad, Nate, Will and Wesley James; and his brother Michael Pasternak.
