She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Emmett and Rosalind Wood Fleming; and her brother Patrick Fleming. She is survived by: her husband David Richard Herbst; her children, Margaret "Peggy" Sanders (Gene), Joseph Herbst, Kathleen Hester, Mary Paynic, Julia Herbst (Jim Wentz), Matt, Chris Herbst, Katherine, Bridget Gunther, Devon and Riley Hester; and her sister-in-law Bernice Fleming.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sheila's memory to the Upper Main Line YMCA, 1416 Berwyn Paoli Road, Berwyn, PA 19312.
