With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley J. East (Berwick, Pennsylvania), born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 27, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Matthews and Anna Matthews (Roadarmel); her husband Frank R. East Sr.; her siblings, Dorothy Simson, Helen Vognetz, Robert Matthews, Charles Cromley, James Matthews and Harold "Skeetz" Matthews; and her children-in-law, Frances R. East and Joseph C. Horsefield.
She is survived by: her children, Michelle Ippolito (Nicholas), Vincent, Charlotte and Timothy M. Trettel (Lindsay); her grandchild Lailah; her daughter Kathleen Horton (Travis); her granddaughter Lina of New Jersey; her sons, Christopher (Antoinette), Joseph of Florida and Charles Jr. (Jessica); her grandsons, Matthew, Andrew of North Carolina and Joshua A. (Emily); her great grandchild Henry; her granddaughter Amber East (Dalton Sharpe); her great grandchild Peyton; her stepson Robert Dorsey (Aubrey); her stepgrandchildren, Ella of Pa and Alaina of Pa; her daughter Coraline of Kansas; her brothers, William Matthews (Kathy) of Bloomsburg and Richard Matthews (Helen Lynn) of Bloomsburg; and her sister-in-law Marie Matthews of Benton. She is also survived by her four children, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 step grandson and 3 step great grandchildren.
