He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael F. Whalen Sr. and Virginia Ritchie (Wilcox); his stepfather Donald J. Ritchie; and his sister Cheryl Whalen. He is survived by: his wife Diane (Santovasi) of Berwick; his children, Michael F. Whalen III of Shickshinny, PA and Wendy Gill of Bellville, PA; and his granddaughters, Katherine Gill, Jamie Gill and Ypsilanti of Michigan.
