He was predeceased by: his parent Adam A. Samsel; his wife Joanne Samsel (Andreas); his sons, Gary and Mason; his great grandchild Derek Fiorenza; and his siblings, Charles "Gus" Samsel, Harvey Samsel and Phyllis Harter.
He is survived by: his parent Blanche Samsel (Cragle); his children, Christine Shaffer (Wayne), Dale Samsel of Berwick, Douglas Samsel (Kerry) of Nescopeck, Brian Samsel (Rebecca Benjamin) and Bloomsburg; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Shaffer, Andrew Shaffer, Heather Collae, Adam Samsel, Rachel Samsel-Militello and Makenna Samsel. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
