He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Washney and Gertrude Washney (Zimmerman); his mother-in-law Dorothy Shimko (Charles Remensnyder); and his siblings-in-law, Laura Washney and John A. Shimko.
He is survived by: his wife Mary A. Washney (Shimko); his son Keith Washney; his granddaughter Kaelyn; his siblings, Sarah Spece (Michael) of Plymouth, Kathryn Goodrich (George) of Wilkes-Barre, Melissa Trumbower of Plymouth, Stephanie Thomas (Joseph) of Wilkes-Barre, Michael Washney of Plymouth and Bill Washney (Patricia) of Wilkes-Barre; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Shimko (Leann) and Marlene Shimko. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
