He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy M. Hinkle (Minnick) and Dorvin M. Whalen. He is survived by: his wife Linda M. Whalen (Middleton); his children, Gary L. Whalen, Jr. (Jennifer) and Monica Welsh (Christopher); his sister Gladys Bennett (Donald); and his nephew Donald Bennett, Jr. (Brenda). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
