She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lester and Mary Ella Wilhelm (Hay); her husband John R. Bender; her son James; and her brother John L. Wilhelm.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce (David Meese), Berlin, Jackie (Rich Lotinsky) and Jane (Rob Hondal) of Burlington, VT; her grandchildren, Greta Durst (Mike), Benjamin Meese (Debbie), Ella Meese (Scott), Michael Bowman (Gul), Katie Bowman, Mary, Julia Hondal, Craig and Steven Lotinsky; and her great grandchildren, Xander Meese, Braden, Carter Durst, Thayer and Yara Bowman.
