He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas R. Hess and Helen G. Hess (Sherwood); and his siblings, James R. Hess, Carrie Whitenight and Maxine Stine.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie S. Hess (Joan) of Erie, Colorado and Lori S. Hess of Grand Junction, Colorado; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Felisha, Juliana and Jennifer; his great grandchildren, Reese, William and Harvey; and his close friend Becky Green of Benton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
