It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean M. Hess of Benton, Pennsylvania, born in Laporte, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 14, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifton J. Young and Jennie L. Young (Snyder); her husband Robert L. "Bob" Hess of Valentine's Day; her siblings, Calvin J., Max L., Alonzo C., Myron Young, Eathel C. Hess, Gladys Hallabuk, Helen M. Young, Edith E. Hess, Louise F. Hartman, Caroline E. Fulmer and Arlene Bardo; and also Philip J. Young.
She is survived by: her children, Bernard J. Hess, Sue Ellen Elliott (David) of Benton and Jeffrey T. Hess (Lonna) of Orangeville; her grandchildren, Sherry Farver (Dusty), Brian Elliott (Brenda), Cassie Lovelace, Jeremy Hess (Lynn), Nevin Hess (Marisa) and Kristen Overdorf (Douglas); her great grandchildren, Brandy Steinruck (Ryan), D. J. Farver, Raina McShane (Paul), Cora, Myra, Sean Elliott, Alexa, Alayna, Isabelle Lovelace, Madisyn, Evangeline Hess, Benjamin and Carly Hess; her great great grandchild Mia Steinruck; and her sister Norma Sweeney. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
