He is survived by: his parents, Leonard Backner and Helen Drabischak Backner; his wife Gloria Belski Backner of Daisytown; his son Brian Backner of Uniontown; his stepson Ron Fisher of Daisytown; and his siblings, Leonard, Thomas, William, Margaret, Mary Ann and Agnes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
