Shirley R. Morenzy Obituary
Shirley Morenzy (Binkowski), a 50-year resident of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. Born in Reading, PA on August 30, 1940, she was the beloved daughter of Alice (Armpriester) and Albert Morenzy. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 37 years Edward J. Binkowski, her sisters Patricia Morenzy, Jean Pettibone and Barbara Pennypacker.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who loved her. Shirley is survived by her three children, Gregory J. Leon (Kathleen), Shirlann Kelly (William), Francis Leon and her sister Salli Ann Wagner. Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren Katelyn Romeo (Michael), her little Movie star, Kyle Leon her model and her Great Grandson Theodore Michael Romeo who made her smile every time she got to hold him.
Shirley was a successful and passionate woman owning her in home grooming shop where her love for animals, especially dogs, shone through. She demonstrated courage, strength, and persistence to her three children and grandchildren whom she adored deeply. Her family was her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She especially loved taking her grandchildren for lunch bunch and supported all their many performances including dance lessons, recitals, sporting events and karate tournaments.
Shirley led a humble and simple life filled with joy in the little things. She was always called upon to rehome lost or unwanted pets. Her favorite thing to do was to go shopping, particularly her trips to Macy's, Woolworth's, Kohl's and Boscov's. Shirley made every Christmas magical shopping all throughout the year for presents. She took immense pleasure in decorating her home and entertaining herself by filling her home with laughter with her numerous friends and family, especially Thanksgiving & Christmas. Weekends were a cherished time for her and her husband (Edward "Binky" Binkowski) and spend quality moments together going out to eat or having a night out on the town it was a weekly tradition. Shirley loved going to Georgine's, Kelly's Seafood, DiNardo's, Bookbinders, Spanky's and Fishers and to enjoy a good meal and a night of dancing in her high heels.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Shirley was incredibly proud of her granddaughter, Katelyn, and her grandson, Kyle. Shirely never missed an opportunity to see her grandchildren whether it was picking them up from school when they were sick or watching them while their parents were at work. Shirley never missed an opportunity to boast about their accomplishments to anyone who would listen.
Shirley's love, strength, and humility left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her smile was infectious and the warmth she brought into our lives will be forever cherished in our hearts. Shirley was good to everyone she met, always willing to help in any way possible.
In accordance with Shirley's wishes, she was adamant that no funeral services would be held. She insisted her family, and friends remember all the happier times.
