It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph L. Checchia (Bensalem, Pennsylvania), who passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ronald Checchia, Arlene Checchia, Marna Kinney, Sandra Martin and Ronnie Miller.

He is survived by: his daughter Tina Checchia; his friends, Bonnie Nase and Paul Deal; his siblings, John Miller (Maryann), Wayne Miller (Gail), Harvey Miller (late Marge) and Dale Miller (Debbie); and his sister-in-law Bridget Checchia. He is also survived by other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable musician, let us celebrate his passion and contribution to the world of traditional country music.

“In loving memory of Joseph L. Checchia, Someone so special will not be forgotten. I had the pleasure of beginning my music career with Jody King. I have nothing but fond memories of this time; and later in my life he invited me to in the annual parades he rode his horse in while singing. Our band was on a float that Jody decorated in red white and blue for 4th of July. He was a great showman and a pleasure to work with. I will not forget the good times. Thank you Jody; rest in arms of our Lord”

“Loosing Joe is a Huge loss for everyone who had the privilege of being his friend.; and a true friend he was.. Joe and I have ridden our horses together, played pool together, enjoyed many parties at his home. he was even our boss at the PWD, and we use to ask him to play and sing a song for us before sending us out on a job detail. Construction Equipment Operator, one of the Best.!!! Goodness how he shared his Sound room and gave many bands a start in their music career, NASHVILLE JODY, Mickey”
