Sondra A. Knisely Obituary
Sondra A. Knisely, 86, of Zion, passed away on May 6, 2023. Born in Warren, Pennsylvania, she was the oldest daughter of Charles and Vera Rea. The family relocated to Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, where Sondra was raised on her family's farm. She graduated from Reynoldsville Winslow High School in 1955 and was valedictorian of her class. Sondra continued her education at the DuBois Business College, graduating in 1957.
On November 18, 1956, she married Jacob C. Knisely, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Allan Knisely (Susan) of Pleasant Gap, Stacia Brady (Neil) of Jacksonville, Florida and Melanie Reed of Aldie, Virginia, as well as her grandchildren Aaron Reed (Rebecca), Emily Maloof (Alexander), Andrea Reed (Zachary Berger) and Hannah Mosca (Ryan). She is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Gwendolyn Reed, and her sister Myra Dee Kells of Salem, Ohio.
Sondra had a lengthy career as head secretary at Bald Eagle Area High School, a position from which she retired.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte, where she volunteered in the library, helped make Easter eggs and worked the Christmas dinner. She was an avid reader who liked to work puzzles and especially enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte, Pennsylvania with Pastor Terry Daugherty officiating. Viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be in Reynoldsville Cemetery.
