Ronald L. Pletcher Obituary
Ronald L. "Zeke" Pletcher, Sr, 73, of Bellefonte, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Born on August 30, 1950, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Stewart and Gladys (Ripka) Pletcher. On January 14, 1982, in Virginia, he married Denise M. Donahey, who survives at home.
Zeke graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1968. He was employed by the Bellefonte Borough and served as the Assistant Superintendent. He retired after more than 30 years of service with the borough.
Zeke was a very social and personable man. He held social memberships with the Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094, the Undine Fire Company #2 of Bellefonte, The Bellefonte Moose Lodge #206, The Pleasant Gap American Legion Post #867, and the Howard VFW Post 8269. He shot darts for both Clinton County and Centre County Dart Leagues. He served as the President for Centre County Dart League for many years. He also did not shy away from a good game of pool. He loved going out to eat, whether it was with family or friends. He liked to tend to his vegetable gardens and canning his harvested produce. He enjoyed hunting and camping. His favorite thing was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Zeke is survived by two sons, Kristian N. Barger and his wife, Angela, of Avis and Ronald L. Pletcher, Jr and his wife, Michelle, of Lock Haven; one daughter, Kelly N. Yeich and her husband, Ron, of Mill Hall; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Devin, Hannah, Hunter, Sophia, Emma, Liam, and Landry; one brother, Floyd "Butch" Pletcher and his wife, Joan, of State College; sisters, Janet Pletcher of Bellefonte and Carol Pletcher of Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Along with his parents, Zeke was preceded in death by his brothers, Dick and Larry Pletcher.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 6pm – 8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Milesburg.
