He was predeceased by: his brothers, Frederick Wheeler, Harold Wheeler and Gerald Wheeler; and his wives, Audrey Carroll Wheeler and Irene Hickey-Wheeler.
He is survived by: his parents, Alden Gifford and Gladys Mae Wheeler (MacCready); his daughter Denice W. of Bellefonte, PA; his son-in-law Harry L. Welles of Bellefonte, PA; and his granddaughter Jessica L. Wheeldon of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
