Kathy M. Rockey Obituary
Kathy M. Rockey, 73, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on October 16, 1950, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Otis E and Shirley A. (Gates) Corman. On March 4, 1972, in Howard, she married Joseph C. Rockey, who survives at home.
Kathy was a 1968 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She worked at the MC3B Lab at Penn State University and then went to work at Encompass Health (Health South Rehab) as a Billing Specialist. She retired after 25+ years of service.
Kathy was a member of the Howard Community Church. She was a very sociable person and loved to visit with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and looked forward to the adventures of a good road trip. She enjoyed the Grange Fair, watching Penn State Football, Nascar, and her daily soaps. Through everything, Kathy was dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren. They were the sunshine on cloudy day. Kathy had many health difficulties in her life, but she remained strong and embraced life with a smile. She lived every day to the fullest.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe; one son, Jeffrey S. Rockey and his wife, Carol, of Coleville; two grandchildren: Sara E. Rockey and her fiancé, John Harshbarger, of Albrightsville, PA, and Zachary T. Rockey of Bellefonte. She is also survived by one sister, Diane Zettle and her husband, Dean, of Spring Mills.
Along with her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by a brother, Scott D. Corman.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 4pm at the Howard Christian Church, Walnut St, Howard, with Pastor Donald Crain officiating.
