He is survived by: his son Ronald Shope (Marianne Shope) of Athens, Alabama; his grandchildren, Karen Shope and Jeff Shope (Stacy Shope); his great grandchildren, Michael and Evan Shope; and his stepgrandchildren, Lucas, Whitney, Genna and Nick. He is also survived by 12 step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and cousins.
