It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine M. Matson of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Steve Manack and Helen Arva Manack; her husband James E. Matson Sr.; her son James E. Matson Jr.; her granddaughter Shelly Crane McDonald; and her siblings, John'Bucky'Manack, Joseph Manack, Barbara Manack and Helen Zolock.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen (John Crane) and Patricia (Donald Serwinski); her daughter-in-law Jean Matson of Greensburg; her grandchildren, Johnny, Suzi Crane of Orlando, FL, Christopher, Ellen Serwinski of Franklinton, NC, Ami Serwinski of Watertown, NY, Jeffrey, So Matson of Woodbine, MD, Melissa, Mike Battisti of Flemington, NJ and Tracy McDonald of Cary, NC; her great grandchildren, Krystian Serwinski, Walker, Connor McDonald, Aven, Violet Crane, Landon, Eden Matson, Ava, Aubrey and Ryan Battisti; her siblings, Margaret Weaver of Belle Vernon and James Manack of Perryopolis; and her sister-in-law Loretta Manack of Belle Vernon.
The Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Catherine M. Matson to rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer that her oldest granddaughter had at age three.
