She was predeceased by: her parents, Addison Elmore and Annie Elizabeth Clem (Lloyd); her spouse Upton N. Carter; and her son Upton H. Carter. She is survived by: her children, Joan I. Whitner, Kenneth R. and Wanda K. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
