He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Mills and Doretta W. Eberle (Rynders); his son John Stuart Eberle Jr.; and his grandson Macklin John Eberle. He is survived by: his spouse Betsey Eberle (Ball); his sons, William Robert Eberle of Ada, MI, Peter Mills Eberle (Mary Beth) of New Kensington, PA and Michael Ball Eberle (Kristi Mueller) of Gaithersburg, MD; and his grandchildren, John Lyle, Calvin Mills, Karen Grayce, Beth Ann Michelle Eberle, Benjamin Pope, Owen Stuart, Zimri Karl and Mason Cole Eberle.

Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Colonel John S. Eberle's name to the Bedford United Methodist Church, 132 East John Street, Bedford, PA 15522.
