She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clyde C. Casteel and Ruby Romaine Casteel (Messersmith); her husband Brad Koontz; her children, Eric Koontz (Ashley) of Atlanta, GA and Amy Koontz (Jason Gonzalez) of Arlington, VA; her grandchildren, Maggie, Bradley Koontz, Ella and Ethan Gonzalez; her sister Cathy Manz (Todd) of Lexington, SC; and her sister-in-law Diane Tegeler of Bedford.
