Galen N. Black Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Galen N. Black of Bedford, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 8, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Simpson B. Black and Sarah Edna Black (Bollman); his wife Jane Black (Kegg); his son Eric V. Black; and his siblings, Donald, Arnold, Gary Black, Mabel Dilling, Ruby Calhoun, Alberta Foor, Helena Perrin, Martha Foor and Doris Dilling.
He is survived by: his friend Cove; his children, Lindley D. Black (Bonnie) of Mechanicsburg, Terry L. Black (Patricia) of Elizabethtown, Mary Jane Black (David Raymond) of Bedford and Connie Black Scanga of Malvern; his grandchildren, Pamela LaShomb (David) of Port St, Andrea L. Black of Mt. Joy, Allison Downing (Thomas) of Mt. Joy, Sara E. Scanga (Charles Schirmer) of Cazenovia, NY, Carrie A. Scanga (Ron Harrity) of Portland, ME and Justin M. Black (Katherine) of Collegeville; his stepgrandsons, David A. Raymond (Robin) of Manchester and Jacob J. Raymond of Bedford; and his sister Marlene Brumwell of San Bernardino, CA.. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren.
