She was predeceased by: her parents, David B. Shirley and Bertha Shirley (Watt); her son Thomas L. Sumner; and her siblings, Maxine Brown, Jean Pierce, Bill Shirley and Gerald Shirley.
She is survived by: her sons, David L. Sumner and Alex D. Sumner; and her former husband Jettie B. Sumner. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
