He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Elwood "Benny" and Laoma Mary Leydig (Hyre); his wife Vera H. Leydig (Trail); and his brothers, Glenn and Elwood Leydig.

He is survived by: his son Michael E. Leydig.
