He was predeceased by: his father Michael L. McGinnis; and his brother-in-law Keith DeVaughn. He is survived by: his mother Mary McGinnis; his spouse Jan; and his siblings, Tom McGinnis (Laura), Mary DeVaughn, Eileen Frankel (Robert) and Rosemary McGinnis.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Noll Funeral Home Inc. (333 3rd St, Beaver, PA 15009). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jim's name to Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Rd #201, Monaca, PA 15061, or Animal Friends Animal Shelter, 562 Camp Horne Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
