He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leslie Appleyard and Emma Appleyard; his wife Eleanor; his children, Diane Paige Appleyard and Richard Leslie "Dick" Appleyard (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Kate Appleyard VanMeter (Nate), Leslie Appleyard Ryan (Kevin) and Richard Ray Appleyard (Mallory); his great grandchildren, Eleanor Palmer Caldwell, Harry Miller Caldwell IV, Jordy Wyatt VanMeter, Palmer Leigh Ryan, Meredith Ryan and Anna Ryan; and also Lisa Wilson.
