He was predeceased by: his parents, James Joseph Jr. and Bernadine Carroll (Novajosky); and his siblings, Alan Carroll and Bernadine Herie. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy A. Riepel; his children, Wendy Carroll-Steffens (Andrew) of Honesdale and James Joseph Carroll IV (Theresa) of Kingsport, TN; his siblings, Donald Carroll (Dorothy) of Mountain Top, PA, Elaine Carroll of Scranton and Diana Castellano (Joseph) of Scranton; his grandchildren, Brittany Carroll, Christopher Steffens, Katelyn Rivezzi, Anthony, Emmalee, Evan Steffens, James Joseph Carroll V and Mark Carroll; and his great grandchildren, Grace Moser, Melodee Moser, Stella Steffens and Cole Rivezzi.
